thanksgiving break:)

i'm actually stoked for thanksgiving break. I get to go home, hang out with my family and old friends, and just have a sweet time away from school. also, the past week has been so dramatic that i think everyone here needs a break from each other. we're all jumping at each other's throats, and definitely just need a break. school is also a lot to handle for all of us now too, as we only have a couple of full weeks left. two days, and i'll be home! really though, i could just skip classes and go home, well 2 days ago, except that i have a test in my very last class tuesday. oh well. on another note, i think i need glasses. i need to get my eyes checked while i'm home. i also want to get a haircut when i'm home. maybe that will work out. maybe it won't. i want to get it cut sorta short. we'll see how that goes. i've learned something about myself while i've been in college-i'm not afraid to try things. for example, i'm actually going to go for a short haircut this time. i've talked about it for years now, but i'm actually going to do it this time. i hope that's a good way to change.

Toilet papering.

Kim and I toilet papered Cole's room last night. It was honestly just payback for something he did to kim. However, he got a little teensy bit mad. well, a little more than a little teensy bit. oh well. we were honestly more scared than we probably should've been, but it's all good now. in fact, after we TP's his room, we ran into phil and riley's room and TP's riley in his bed. we had a great time, because we wound up just throwing rolls of tp around the room. we knocked down the disco ball. oops. then the boys went and tp'd scott's room, while he wasn't there. ha. fun times.

my CNU bucket list. What's already checked off?

Here's my CNU bucket list:
1. Beat all the levels in the World of Goo
2. Go on a date with Mr. Lincoln
3. Go to all the home ice hockey games. Actually talk to some players instead of facebook stalking them.
4. Make a collage of your Freshman year
5. Go see a performance you’ve never heard of in the Ferguson
6. Kiss a random stranger. Don’t get to know them after. Unless they follow up then that’s whatev.
7. Skip class for an entire day and go to busch gardens instead.
8. Actually pay attention in English.
9. Climb the wall of a building like spiderman
10. Hide a pet squirrel from charleen

And here's what i've gotten done:

# 5. I went to something called black violins. I wasn't planning to go, but once i realized no one was left on the hall, except for two girls (Katie and Jillian) who invited me to go to black violins, I went. It was actually super cool-two black guys that played violins (if that wasn't obvious from the name). They played different types of music (including pop music! :)) I thought it was well worth my time.

# 8. This has actually happened quite a number of times.

those are the only ones that i've actually done so far. I might want to get on the rest of those.

here are some plans that i've come up with for other items:

# 1. I'm well on my way to beating world of goo. It's a game, in a world filled of gooballs. I have to create bridges and other structures to get some of the gooballs to a little tube thingy. that's the best I can explain it, but that's what i've got. I'll beat it soon i'm sure:)

# 3. Also well on it's way to being fulfilled. I've gone to every home hockey game so far, and plan to continue.

# 4. does a facebook album count? assuming it doesnt, i'll probably work on the collage soon

# 6. I'm really not sure i want to do this, but i suppose we'll see what happens. if you haven't noticed, i didn't write the list. my crazy friend sarah did.

# 7. I'll wait until the spring semester, when it's a bit warmer. i hope to get a busch gardens pass thingy too by then.

# 9. I'm not spidey. not sure how that will work out, but i might just have to try it. oh wait, kim and i tried that, maybe i've done this one?

# 10. I don't really want a pet squirrel. in fact, i'd probably shoot it. here's my solution: name a pet fish "squirrel" secretively and don't let charleen find out. that way i can hide a pet squirrel from her. i like my idea. plan will be in action...after winter break.

so there you have it. that's my CNU (freshman year) bucket list. maybe i'll post my actual bucket list (which has 25 things to do before i die) on it another day.

pairs that would miss each other if they were separated

so one of my best friends from home, kali, and i have been facebook messaging about life. She's at JMU, so we're a little bit too far to really hang out, other than over skype, and who has time for that? well, thanks to facebook, we can keep up with one another, and we started saying "i miss you like..." i started off with "I miss you like macaroni misses the cheese before they're mixed together." so here are a few more:

ok, that's enough of those.

so yesterday during english class, sarah and i made lyrics to the song "teenage dream" by katy perry. we each did different themes, sarah's was food, mine was about the fish that i had that died. here's the story of the fish (i'll try to post the song lyrics later):

once upon a time, i wanted to buy fish. i knew i couldn't buy fish because i wasn't yet 18, and petsmart won't let anyone buy fish until they reach the age of 18. so, on my 18th birthday, there were two things i had my friends do with me: get my ears pierced a second time, and buy fish. so i get my ears pierced, then we drive over to petsmart and get a pink fish tank (go figure) with pink rocks and a pink bubble background. all i needed was pink fish. well, i got them. one of them was pink anyway, the other two were yellow, and orange. we named them flo, glo, and spankie. the pink one was flo, and was terribly mean, glo was the yellow one, and we were afraid she may have been pregnant, and lastly, spankie, the orange one, was the midget of the trio.

fall break came up. i didn't know what to do with the fish over the 5 days i would be home. should i take them home? should i maybe leave them here? should I just let them die? my roommate suggested getting some time-release food that lasts a while, but i didn't have any way to get to the store and buy this stuff (yeah, i really need a car here!). so, there i went, all the way home with the fish. they made it there perfectly fine, and they added an extra something to my dining room at home. I took care of them at home, and my mom enjoyed seeing them there.

it's time to go back to cnu. i pack the fish up again, get back to cnu. the first thing i did was let the fish back in the tank, rather than the ziplock bag in which they had been swimming during the car ride. they began swimming, then i looked in the tank a few minutes later, and spankie was caught in the filter. oh no...how do i get a fish out of the filter? no idea. i raced to unplug the fliter, but it was too late, he was already dead. he didn't move from the filter either. the other two quickly died after that. I really don't know what the cause of death could've been, just that they all three died.

i guess i'll eventually get new fish. what should they be named??

another ID lost...

So this morning, I wake up, to do some final review for my test at noon. I always go to lunch with Sarah, Hillary, and Taryn at 11:15 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It's time to leave, and I'm all ready to go. I search for my ID, it's not in my pockets. I don't remember having it last night. In fact, I specifically remember thinking to myself how I didn't have my ID with me last night after dinner. So, I proceed to search for the ID in various pants' pockets, jacket pockets, etc, and do not find it. It's 11:20, and time for lunch. I give up, grab my OLD id, thinking that it's possible that the information desk can reactivate it so I don't have to pay the $25 fee. Nope. of course they can't. third ID: bought. i really can't lose this one. and I'm hoping and praying it doesn't fall into the toilet. these are my two goals.

anyway, christmas and Thanksgiving are on the way! i always get so excited about christmas. I love it.

also, really sort of random, but i was just thinking about seasons. one of my least favorite questions to be asked is, "what is your favorite season?" perhaps because i am in fact, a season (by name anyway), but i really just think it's because i love all of the seasons. I love that we have them, we have change. If things were always one way or the other (Narnia was always cold when the White Witch reigned, for example), things would just be boring.

in class. crazy story 1!

so here's my first story/funny memory of college:

Christopher Newport University, like most colleges today, has issued students ID cards. we received them during our orientation. mine, i lost the very first week i got here, even before i began classes. i had to buy a new one. $25.00. that's nice...

about a month later, one of my suitemates walks up and says, "ummm. your ID is in the toilet." crap. that's disgusting. how did it reach the toilet? not sure. i didn't put it there, and i wasn't wearing pants with pockets that day, so it didn't fall out of my pocket. it's still a mystery to this day, as to how my ID fell into the toilet. this was my new ID, by the way. I found my old one shortly after, but it had already been inactivated because of the new one.

I proceeded to put a plastic bag over my hand, almost cried, then just braced myself and started digging. I got it, wiped it off, then went about my evening.

another day, "where's my ID?" i look in the toilet, again. there it is. in the toilet again. EW. this time i found it much easier to just take care of the situation, but there it was, again, sitting in the toilet's little hole.

my suitemate, Kim, made me a little pocket for my ID whenever I go into the bathroom. she decorated it all pretty, and it even matches our bathroom furnishings. she did a great job. Thanks, Kim. :)

that's my story for now. I'll try to post another by the end of the day. hopefully i'll have time. I have a lot to do to catch up for time lost.

So my friend Sarah and I decided to make blogs. We're in college, so I guess we figured, "hey, these are the best times right here, why not write them down for everyone to know? So here it is: a blog dedicated to my life at CNU.

A little about me:
I'm pretty much obsessed with the color pink, if you couldn't tell.
I'm a Freshman at CNU.
I have awesome friends and hallmates, and a great family.
Audrey Hepburn is my role model.
I thought I wanted to major in English and Political Science, but I have no idea anymore.
I do dumb things, but hey, who doesn't?
I hope to post about some of the crazy things that have happened to me since I've been here, and the things that will continue to happen as well.
